Gendering Political Science (GPS) develops new strategies for diversifying the social sciences and addressing discrimination in the academy. It achieves this goal by inviting social scientists who work on gender, race, sexuality, intersectionality, and coalitions to apply the lessons from their research to higher education. Journal articles and working papers detailing new strategies are available here.
Carol Mershon and Denise Walsh founded GPS in 2012 with the support of the UVa Department of Politics. Subsequent support has come from the Southern Political Science Association; the UVa Women, Gender & Sexuality Program, and from the National Science Foundation (SES 1447782).
